The funeral home was established in the early 50′s and was purchased by Doyle and Colleen (Steelman) Bradford in 1984. The name was changed from Summersville Funeral Home to Bradford´s Summersville Funeral Home. Upon purchasing the funeral home the Bradford´s decided their mission statement for the funeral home is, “to give personal and dignified care and service to each family they serve”. Our motto is, “Our family serving yours.” Our goal is to bring a personal touch to funeral service, and to bring comfort to each family at the most devastating time in their life.
Throughout our lives we will be faced with many milestone and events, which we as a society mark with ceremony. Births, birthdays, engagements, weddings and anniversaries are but a few. When a death occurs, our family and friends gather around us to help in our sorrow and offer us comfort and help celebrate a life that is gone from us. A funeral “ceremony”, provides us with a healing effect, allowing us to share emotions, memories and to be comforted by words of healing.
A funeral service provides a tribute to a life that has been loved and well lived. What ever choice you make we will carry out your wishes, to plan a dignified and meaningful service to honor your loved one.
