Mrs. Lena Thompson

Lena Alice Thompson was born November 15, 1918 at Chanute, Kansas to James and Sadie (Glover) Seaver. She passed away at the Ozark Riverview Manor in Ozark, Missouri on Monday, April 30, 2012 making her age 93 years.

She was united in marriage Calvin Chester Thompson on June 8, 1937. They were married nearly 58 years before Cal’s death in 1995. To their union two sons, were born, Richard Lon and Arnold Wayne.

She attended church at Arroll for 45 years, and was baptized in the Jack Fork River. Lena was attending the Hopedale Baptist Church in Ozark. Lena and Cal lived and raised their family in the Arroll Community, after Cal’s death she moved to Ozark.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin (Cal) Thompson, parents, James and Sadie Seaver, daughters-in-law, Carol Thompson and Janice (Frosty) Thompson, grandson Scott Anthony Thompson, and brothers, Clarence William Seaver, and infant brother Johnny Seaver, and sister-in-law Ruby Sanderson

She is survived by her sons and families, Richard Thompson of Ozark, Arnold Wayne Thompson of Nixa, three grandchildren, Jeff Thompson and wife Deborah of Union, Kentucky, Jill Knight of St. Louis, Gary Thompson of Nixa, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Tori Thompson of Nixa, Devin and Tyler Thompson of Union, Kentucky, Calvin Knight of Ozark, brothers and sisters, William A. (Billy) Seaver, of Kimberling City, Missouri, Francis Sink of Gardner, Kansas, Darlene Overbaugh of Tonganoxie, Charlene Snell of McLouth, Kansas, many nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at Bradford Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Pm. Funeral services will be held at the Arroll Church at 11:00 Am on Thursday, May 3rd with Rev. Glenn Green officiating. Interment will be in Arroll Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home
